International Children Rights Day Function at Sundara Devi Lower Secondary School

For the first time the Children celebrated the International Children Rights Year with a cultural dance competition by the 4 houses in the school . TENZING HOUSE , HILLARY HOUSE, SAGARMATHA HOUSE, PASANG LHAMU HOUSE . Our Chief Guest for the function was our founding member of NGTF Tashi Tenzing.

The NGTF (Nepal Green Tara Foundation) Foundation has launched the Child Education Sponsorship Program . The goal of this program is to provide school level education to underprivileged but deserving children so as to empower them to better their future prospects through education. Disabled, conflict-affected, abandoned or orphaned, these children hail from very destitute families from Nowakot villages, Mustang Villages and far northern Western boarders of Humla- Nepal. The collaborative efforts towards the scholarship program have shown promising results in ameliorating the quality of living of the children. The education sponsorship program depends on the generosity of the clients who travel with Tenzing Asian Holidays to the Himalaya, while NGTF (Nepal Green Tara Foundation) identifies the children most in need and oversee the coordination and monitoring aspects of the program.

We are working on a new construction to built a new toilet facilities and clean drinking water for the Sundar Devi Lower secondary School at Tame : Nuwakot for 200 children . With this new toilet and drinking water facilities the children will learn hygiene ways to go the toilet and wask their hands after visiting the toilets and the most important clean fresh drinking water for the children . The construction will start from December 2011 and will finish by 3 months February 2012.
